Diesel and the smog check
Diesel vehicles 1998 and newer with a GVWR up to 14,000 lb need a smog in California, and we run those here for $110. See the smog check page. A lit check engine light fails the test; we generally recommend running it as-is, and if it fails we diagnose what needs to be corrected before the next one.

Do you smog diesels?
Yes. Diesel smog checks are $110 for 1998-and-newer diesels up to 14,000 lb GVWR. Walk in, or call with the year and model if you're not sure yours is due.
Why is the diesel diagnostic $250?
Diesel diagnostics take longer and use dedicated equipment. If you have us do the related repair, the $250 is credited toward it.
What trucks do you work on?
Duramax (GM), Powerstroke (Ford), Cummins (Ram) and other diesels: pickups, vans, SUVs and heavy-duty trucks. Call with the vehicle and what it's doing and we'll get you scheduled.
Do you work on lifted or dually trucks?
Yes. Duallies and heavier trucks may have different pricing for inspections like the VSSI. Call for a quote.
Can you help with a tow?
Yes. Give us a call. We work with trusted towing partners and can help you arrange service to the shop.
Do you do DPF deletes or tuning?
No. Emissions deletes are illegal in California and the truck won't pass smog. We diagnose and repair the emissions system so it works the way it was built.
